It's THE month of the year

Hello lovely readers! It is THE most exciting month in the Training Matters (TM) calendar, because of course June brings us the Recognition of Excellence (RoE) Awards!

Excited certainly doesn't cut it. I will let you explore more about the awards with our front cover story and the RoE feature on pages 4 and 5. But just on a personal note, l'd like to thank our sponsors, judges and the amazing TM, events and sales teams that all work together to make this event the success that it is.

Most of all I'd like to thank the community pharmacy staff across the UK for being brave enough to enter themselves or considerate enough to nominate their wonderful colleagues. Thank you for being vulnerable with us, we hope to do you proud and we certainly cannot wait to share all of these amazing stories at both our awards ceremony and in our July issue next month. I hope they inspire you and you never know, maybe it'll be your name written here next year!

In terms of the issue this month, I am delighted to bring you some summer time support, the travel health feature focuses on all the advice you can give to customers heading off on holiday. Our 10-Minute Clinic is also on allergies as hayfever seems especially rife at the moment. I was amazed to learn that weekly visits to the NHS hayfever page have reportedly increased by 252 per cent in the past five weeks!

I hope you manage to stay cool, calm and collected in the pharmacy throughout the summer - and don't forget to enjoy the sunshine (safely, I might add).
